Privacy policy

The enquiry flow keeps your answers in the browser while you complete it. Choosing “Submit” opens your own mail client; the site does not submit the form to a database. Your name, email address, organisation and message are then handled through the email service you choose and by Terajoule so we can respond. If you subscribe to updates, Terajoule Limited stores your email address, the date you signed up and the website you used, and uses them to send occasional updates about Terajoule and Nohm. The legal basis is your consent. You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details at any time by emailing admin@terajouleenergy.com.

If you choose “Allow analytics”, we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to understand which pages are useful. Google Analytics loads only after you agree. It records the pages you view (without query strings), the page you came from, page titles, clicks on email links and file downloads, and general device and browser information. Google uses your IP address to estimate your approximate location and does not store it in Analytics. Google signals and advertising features are switched off, and we do not send form contents to Google. Google may process this data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Analytics data is kept for 14 months. The legal basis is your consent.

If you choose “Reject analytics”, Google Analytics does not load and any Google Analytics cookies are deleted. You can change your choice at any time with the “Analytics preferences” button at the bottom of every page. Your choice is stored in your browser for 90 days.

Separately, the site has its own optional visit counter. If you choose “Yes, help improve the site”, it sends only a coarse event name, page path, optional project label and timestamp to a first-party endpoint. We do not intentionally collect names, email addresses, IP addresses, user-agent strings or advertising identifiers for this measurement. If you choose “No thanks”, no measurement events are sent. This preference is stored in browser local storage, not a tracking cookie.

The site uses the language and time zone reported by your browser to suggest a region and language. It does not request precise location access or use your IP address for this. If you change either setting, the choice is stored only in local storage on your device so the site can remember it. Choosing “Use automatic settings” removes that saved preference.

Some pages link to or load material from other sites, including the Joule Model, Nohm and Project Artemis. Those services have their own policies. Follow the link only if you are comfortable with that service receiving a request from your browser.

You can ask what personal data Terajoule holds about you, and request correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of it. You can object to processing where applicable, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. Email admin@terajouleenergy.com with enough context for us to identify the request. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie) or the supervisory authority where you live or work.
